Back in France...

Bonjour!

It's Carrie at the blog this time - and I feel like we have seen and done a million things in only a week! Vilanova was a great little city and it was a nice week there spent going to the beach and a few day trips to Barcelona.

Barcelona is a very cool city, smaller than Madrid and less crazy (but still crazy). We, as Josh said in his earlier blog, took the bus tour and it was really fun and rather educational - I learned so much about Barcelona and we went to the second museum of our trip! We also watched the Spain - France soccer game, it was very exciting to be in Spain when they won.. very exciting! I was so excited when Italy won as well, maybe because we head there in a few weeks!!

Yesterday was "moving day" and we headed back to France and considering it was a 6 hour drive, "moving day" went rather smoothly. Josh and I are truly a great team when it comes to getting our family to these destinations in our automobile! We both have our strengths and weaknesses, I am not going to go into what they are, lots of very funny moments where I have been crying from laughing so hard - but it has worked very well!

Aix 

We stopped in Aix en Provence and had lunch, walked around and broke up the drive a bit. What a great city... cobblestone streets, amazing architecture and we found a wonderful little restaurant. The kids had "Water Ice" which is essentially a slushy with more exotic flavors:) I just kept thinking... this would be really fun if Josh and I were here by ourselves, to walk around, stop into a restaurant, have a drink and a bite! - ha ha that was only a dream.

We are now in this great little place in Port Grimaud at Prairies del la Mer in the South of France. It is basically high end camping. We are in this cute little (and I mean little) hut/double wide/building about 250 feet from the beach. Most likely the only Americans here and surrounded by Italians, English, French, Swiss and several other cultures. The fact that almost everyone stares at us, (mainly Isabel) does not phase me anymore. Josh and I have been so concerned about our kids being quiet and respectful - yet we look around and our kids are better behaved than most out here. So, I am laying off my kids and giving the looks right back... I am over it and I feel better after coming to this conclusion:)

Anyway, my mother-in-law found this little place where we are now - and she is awesome, because it is very cool and I am loving it thus far. The kids are going to Kids Club tomorrow at 10:00 until 12:00 and Josh and I are actually going to hang out sans children - Yeah!! Our view from the beach is of Saint Tropez and the boats are beautiful and the ocean is blue and clear. The kids have gotten so comfortable in the ocean and are getting very tan. Kalli is brown, literally brown - the other two are tan!

First Course - Fromage

It has only been 1 day, but I feel more relaxed than I have since we left home and cannot believe we have been gone almost a month. France is a very beautiful country and the food (specifically the cheese) is fabulous! We are all still trying to switch from Spanish to French and it has been trying - the kids continually say gracias instead of merci. It is quite comical - I think the French people here are under the assumption we are Spanish and then they hear us speak and do not know what to think!

I am very excited we are here for a full week - will head to Saint Tropez for a few hours one day and the rest of the time we are going to kick it on the beach. Until the next time we move - which seems to be the only time I blog - Au Revoir..Bonsoir et tu me manques!!
