France | Spain Post

Buenos Tardes from Potes, Spain

The past few days have been busy and a little wild to say the least. An old friend from boarding school, Travis Spitzer was in Bidart, France with his family. He rented an amazing house overlooking a world famous surf break.  The views were ridiculous and it was a great spot for a conference call. Tuesday we headed to Bidart which is about 10 minutes from the border. We spent the day and evening with the Spitzer crew swimming, eating, drinking and then more of the same. It was great to see Travis and meet his wife and kids.
ADDAERO
CONFERENCE CALL
ROSS & SPITZER KIDS

Wednesday in San Sebastian the sun finally decided to cooperate and provide us with blue sky and warm weather for the entire day. We spent the day at the beach with numerous trips in the water. I am teaching the kids how to body surf, it is a bit challenging at the moment. Overall the kids have become more comfortable with the water and surf. Late yesterday afternoon the Spitzers joined us on the beach for a few hours and then for a night on the town in San Sebastian. I definitely overdid it in the wine and beer department and felt it today. The Sptizers left around 11 PM and for some reason Carrie and I decided we needed one more round of beers and Pinxtos. We ended up at our favorite bar eating and drinking with the kids until past midnight.

GUGGENHEIM IN BILBAO
Our plan was to wake up this morning at 7 and be on the road by 8. I did wake up at 7, took a shower, and then realized there was no reason we needed to be anywhere at any time. So I went back to bed and we were on the road to Bilbao around 11.  We spent a few hours in Bilbao walking around the outside of the Guggenheim. This building is remarkable and worth a visit. Keeping to our routine, we did not go in to the building although Carrie and I would like to visit the Guggenheim in the future  and actually go in to the museum.

After Bilbao we drove a few more hours to the Asturias region of Spain. We are now in the mountains for a few days. We all loved San Sebastian, it was clean, our apartment was spacious and in a great location.  The week we spent in SS was awesome and we all want to go back at some point.
