Croatia - on the boat - Carrie

Thoughts From a True Boater, Kalli:

I really like the boat and Croatia – we swim a lot, we jump off the side of the boat and we look at things in the water with our goggles. The chef  (A.K.A Captain) and his brother make a lot of seafood. My favorite meal has been the whole fish because I got to watch Pappy cut the spine and bones out and it was really good.

We usually sleep on the top deck on the boat – it has been fun. I rode a tube behind the boat, it was really bumpy and fun. I got a lot of water in my eyes. I am going to wear my goggles next time (I think). We walk into the different towns on the islands and Grammy gets us ice cream. One town had a wedding and there was another wedding across the water from us. There was really loud music when we went to bed.

I play Dominoes with Grammy and Pappy, I win pretty much every game.

Bok! (Hi in Croatian)

This is the 5^th day on the boat and I am having such a great time – this country is so amazing! The islands and little towns are beautiful and I am so blessed to be able to see so many on our journey down the Adriatic.

Korcula

I never thought I would like being on a boat for as long as I have. However, I am really loving the entire experience – it does help that the Captains have been cooking (wonderful meals) and cleaning, I feel so spoiled yet I think I could get use to this lifeJ As my niece said, after they were on the boat last week – we sleep, swim, eat… repeat! It is so true too. What a way to spend the day.  Even as I write this, I am having a really hard time thinking and actually using my brain. So please excuse this blog if it makes literally no sense!

Thank you to my generous in-laws, Kathy and Alain – they have spoiled us rotten with this experience and the kids are in heaven. Is, Kal and Eli swim and spend most of the day in the ocean. They have really become comfortable in the water and enjoy watching the sea life underneath them.  Alain taught Isabel and Eli how to snorkel, it opened a whole new world to them.

I have not been sleeping above with Josh and the kids – I just cannot do it, freaks me out a little too much. I, surprisingly, have not been seasick at all and I love the feel of the swaying boat, it just puts you to sleep!

Josh and I have been swimming everyday – the only cardio I have had for 5 weeks, needless to say, it has been nice to get my heart rate up a little!

Josh has the fullest beard I have ever seen on him, it has been 5 weeks and he is just looking so “Grizzly Adams”. I think he is contemplating a shave if he can find a barber in the next week or so. He is going to have quite a humorous tan line when we get back if he does not shave it! Thursday, we are off the boat and onto our next adventure where Josh and I have to starting using our brains again! We are heading back to Italy and will stay there until the end before we head home in August.

I am off to take a jump on the ocean and then possibly a nap……
